Qualifications

• Master's degree in guidance and counseling with major coursework.
• Eligible for Alabama teaching certificate with endorsement in counseling.
• Background clearance as per Alabama statutes and State Board of Education regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an effective school guidance and counseling program.
• Define and interpret the guidance program to students, teachers, parents, administrators, and community members.
• Coordinate registration of new students and orient them to school procedures and learning opportunities.
• Assist students in developing middle/high school curriculum plans and document annually.
• Develop and implement group guidance programs for different levels.
• Assist in placing students with special needs in appropriate settings.
• Coordinate handling of student records securely and confidentially.
• Record student grades, attendance, and related educational data.
• Coordinate the school's testing program and report results to stakeholders.
• Assist teachers in identifying learning and behavioral issues affecting student growth.
