Job summary

The successful candidate will provide effective instruction, prepare lessons, tests and evaluations, manage the classroom, and communicate student progress to parents. Connecticut teaching certification with elementary emphasis is required.

Qualifications

• Requires CT teaching certification and elementary education emphasis.
• Ability to modify curriculum to meet diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to rules, regulations and by-laws of the Board of Education.
• Complies promptly with administrative directives issued by the superintendent or subordinates.
• Maintains knowledge of philosophy, courses of study, techniques and objectives for the area of assignment.
• Directs and evaluates the learning experiences of the pupil.
• Maintains order and discipline in the classroom conducive to good instruction.
• Ensures parents are informed of student growth and development.
• Participates in in-service education programs and professional growth activities.
• Participates in activities to promote better school-community relations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the building administrator.
