Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in Charlotte, North Carolina, invites applications for an Elementary General Music teacher. The role covers music instruction, band or orchestra as needed, and alignment with the NC Essential Standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education is required.
Master’s Degree in Performance or Music Education preferred.
Valid NC teaching license required.
Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

Adhere to state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
Assist administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
Establish and maintain an orderly and supportive classroom environment.
Create a culture of effectiveness with high standards for all students.
Plan and implement a music program aligned to NC Essential Standards.
Utilize a variety of methods and adapt instruction for all students.
Incorporate appropriate music technologies in instruction.
Assess and analyze student work and progress.
Maintain an accurate inventory of musical equipment and instruments.
Communicate program needs to the principal and collaborate with staff.
