Job Description

Provide an enriched atmosphere where students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible members of society. Facilitate learning and guide students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional and psychological growth and maturation under the direction of certified teachers. Responsible to the building principal and enrichment director where assigned.

Essential Functions

• Provide supervision for after school and Friday school students.
• Work with the director of the enrichment program to plan and implement activities.
• Provide a safe and welcoming environment for all students.
• Facilitate transitions from classroom time to after school care and pickup by guardians.
• Clean and disinfect facility and supplies as needed.

Education / Experience

Required:

• High School diploma and at least 18 years of age
• Ability to pass a CBI background check and Trails Background Check
• At least 3 months (460 hours) of satisfactory and verifiable experience with school-age children.

Preferred:

• Experience working with school age children 5-12

Additional Qualifications

• Demonstrate knowledgeable decision-making, judgment, and concern for the proper care and well-being of children.
• Must complete an annual health history.
• Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
• Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time, numerous distractions, visual, auditory and ambulatory acuity important.
