Job summary

Onward Education in Massachusetts is seeking an English Learner (ELL/ESL) Teacher to support students in grades 2–5, with ESL services spanning PreK–6, in an on-site role.

You'll partner with classroom teachers and student support teams to deliver targeted language instruction, help multilingual learners grow in confidence and proficiency, and contribute to documentation and progress monitoring. This is a contract opportunity for the 2026/2027 school year, with a 35-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting multilingual learners in elementary settings or similar.
• Ability to collaborate with classroom teams and adapt instruction across proficiency levels.
• Willingness to work on-site and follow school documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct ELL/ESL instruction aligned to students' language proficiency levels and classroom expectations.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to plan supports and scaffolds that increase access to grade-level content.
• Support language development across listening, speaking, reading, and writing through structured, student-friendly instruction.
• Contribute to documentation and progress monitoring as required by the school team.
• Participate in team meetings and communication that keep services aligned and consistent for students.
