Job summary

Aberdeen School District No. 5 is seeking an elementary teacher for the 2026-27 school year on a 1.0 FTE contract.

The role focuses on creating and delivering individualized educational plans, working with a multidisciplinary team, and communicating progress to families. Qualifications include a valid Washington State elementary certificate; prior elementary teaching experience is preferred, with bilingual Spanish skills valued.

Qualifications

• Valid Washington State teaching certificate withendorsement in Elementary Education.
• Prior successful elementary teaching experience preferred.
• Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with administrators and staff to develop and implement individualized and meaningful education programs for eligible students.
• Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team to continually assess student needs and evaluate learning progress.
• Schedule and conduct conferences with students, parents, staff and outside agencies.
• Coordinate training and work assignments of instructional assistants.
• Prepare and maintain reports and other documentation as required.
• Effectively communicate learning progress with students and parents.
• Participate in extracurricular programs, activities, meetings and conferences as required.
