  • Prepares written communications relating to general and specialized work of the department.
  • Plans instruction to reflect current division and state curriculum standards.
  • Uses materials and resources compatible with students’ needs and abilities and which support the approved curriculum.
  • Links content with past and future learning experiences and real-world applications.
  • Uses research-based instructional strategies that promote student learning.
  • Differentiates instruction to meet student needs.
  • Provides ongoing and culminating assessments to measure student performance.
  • Provides timely feedback to encourage student progress.
  • Uses student performance data in instructional planning and decision making.
  • Adheres to scoring and grading procedures and policies.
  • Maximizes instructional time to increase learning.
  • Manages behavior to promote learning.
  • Organizes the classroom for a safe learning environment.
  • Communicates effectively with students.
  • Works with staff, families and community agencies to support student success.
  • Initiates timely communication with parents/guardians and administrators concerning progress or problems.
