Job summary

AoPS Academy in Carmel Valley is seeking an Associate Director to lead after‑school program operations, teach the AoPS curriculum, and partner with the Campus Director on staffing and training. This is a full‑time, year‑round role including the academic year and summer.

The ideal candidate will have strong math/language arts knowledge, classroom management skills, and the ability to coach instructors and collaborate with staff. Evening and weekend work is typical, with summer hours more standard.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; education or related field preferred.
• Advanced degree in math or language arts preferred.
• Strong content knowledge in math and language arts.
• Minimum 1 year teaching experience with advanced K-12 students preferred.
• Strong organizational and priority management skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach the AoPS curriculum in dynamic, participation-oriented classes and manage the classroom.
• Participate in hiring and training of part-time staff.
• Assist with administrative, logistical, and customer service operations.
• Support enrollment and sales by meeting with prospective families to assess fit and explain program benefits.
• Counsel students and families as needed for student support.
• Help design and implement campus community-building activities to boost retention.
