Job summary

South Newton School Corporation is seeking an Elementary Paraprofessional to assist in teaching a diverse population of children in an atmosphere of kindness that encourages active inquiry, fosters growth, and promotes respect for self, others, and the world.

Responsibilities include supervising teacher-planned activities, assisting with lessons and seatwork, tutoring students in small groups, assisting with computers, creating and organizing teaching aids, and performing clerical duties such as

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• ParaPro test or 60 college hours required.
• Ability to speak grammatically correct English.
• Ability to work with students, staff and the school community.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually or in groups with lesson work.
• Supervise teacher-planned activities and help with seatwork.
• Provide tutoring to students in small groups and assist with computers.
• Prepare and organize teaching aids and materials.
• Perform clerical duties (attendance, records) and support cafeteria/bus routines.
