Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana is seeking adjunct faculty to teach in the Education program. The position is part-time and on-campus for the Spring semester, with daytime classes and weekly asynchronous delivery where applicable.

Faculty will use Canvas and PowerPoint to support instruction and assessment. Applicants must hold a Master’s in Education and a valid teaching license, plus at least three years of K-12 teaching experience.

• Master's degree in Education or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Current or expired professional state teaching license/certification.

• Deliver instruction in assigned courses using standard syllabi.
• Maintain attendance and grading records per college policy.

Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the school.Program Operation:Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.Submits requested information within established timelines.Students:Is available to students outside of scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.Instruction:Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).Uses technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate. In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair.Promote same as an integral part of one's work.A qualified faculty member in early childhood education meets the following program standards:1. Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in education or a related field appropriate to the program,AND2. Current or expired professional state teaching license/certification andAt least three years of K-12 teaching experience.AND3. Other requirements for Science of Reading classes:MSJ Science of Reading Training Microcredential for Ivy Tech facultyORComplete Cox Campus Structured Literacy Series Modules and complete the Cox Campus final Structured Literacy Exam CertificateORSuccessful KPEERI Exam CompletionORSuccessful completion of Keys to Literacy (80 hours)ORSuccessful completion of Praxis #5205ORIndiana Literacy Endorsement (added to teaching license)ORUpon Curriculum Committee review, equivalent or higher credential in Science of Reading, preferably from an IDA accredited institution, i.e, Mt.
