Job summary

Maureen Joy Charter School is seeking an Elementary Exceptional Children’s Teacher Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports students with special needs, implements IEPs, and helps create an inclusive learning environment.

You will collaborate with EC and related services teams, collect data on progress, and assist with daily living skills, accommodations, and classroom routines. A strong commitment to anti-racist practice is valued.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Experience supporting students with disabilities and implementing IEPs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support EC students individually or in small groups per IEPs and track progress.
• Provide direct academic and social-emotional support, including daily living skills.
• Assist in implementing behavior plans and collect data.
• Collaborate with EC, ML, related services, and general education staff to meet student needs.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment and routines.
