Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students; creating a flexible, safe, and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and goals.
Essential Functions
- Develops and administers school elementary curriculum consistent with district goals and objectives.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction and student learning.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials, and translates these into effective learning experiences.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, modifies instructional methods to fit individual needs, including students with special needs, and conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
- Instructs students in responsible citizenship and other subject matters as specified by law and school policies.
- Continuously updates professional knowledge through seminars, workshops, or research.
- Maintains accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and activities as per district procedures and laws.
- Encourages parental involvement and maintains effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensures student conduct aligns with school standards and policies, establishing and maintaining appropriate pupil behavior.
- Collaborates with other staff members to evaluate and improve curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
- Selects and requisitions instructional materials and maintains inventory records.
- Supervises students during activities outside the classroom, including transportation.
- Administers standardized tests as per district programs.
Additional Duties
Performs other tasks as assigned by the Principal and central office administrators.

Travel Requirements
Travels to district buildings and meetings as required.

Qualifications Profile
- State Certification as an Elementary Teacher.
- Preferred: Certification in the appropriate grade level.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
Experience
Prior teaching experience is a plus.
