Job summary

Diocese of Gary seeks an Instructional Paraprofessional for St John the Baptist K-8 in Louisiana. Under a certified staff member, you will assist teachers to meet instructional goals and support classroom activities.

You will reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction, work with students in small groups, help with assessments, supervise non-instructional activities, and contribute to a safe, orderly learning environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with special needs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in reading, language arts and mathematics to reinforce learning.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to support instructional programs.
• Assist with classroom assessments and record-keeping as needed.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and reinforce skills for diverse learners.
• Support behavioral management to maintain a safe, orderly classroom and supervise non-instructional areas.
