Job summary

Northampton Area School District is seeking a Cafeteria Monitor at Lehigh Elementary School to assist during lunch periods and supervise playground activities. The position is part-time with hours 10:35 am – 1:35 pm.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, English proficiency, and strong oral and written communication skills. First Aid, CPR and AED certifications are encouraged, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and interact with students, staff and the public in a

Qualifications

Possesses High School Diploma or Equivalency.
Possesses proficiency in the English language.
Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.
Possesses ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
Possesses and/or willing to obtain First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.

Responsibilities

Monitors and directs student activities in lunch areas.
Monitors students in play areas, restrooms, and related classroom areas.
Assists in keeping cafeteria areas in order and clean.
Monitors students and responds to situations in a timely manner.
Maintains appropriate student behavior according to rules, procedures and policies.
Reports unusual, suspicious or criminal activities to a building administrator.
Reports inappropriate student behavior and assists in incident reports.
Assists students who are ill or injured and administers basic first aid if necessary.
Maintains regular and timely attendance.
