Job summary

Northampton Area School District is seeking a part-time Cafeteria Monitor at Lehigh Elementary School to supervise students during lunch and monitor playground activities.

The role requires basic English proficiency, strong communication, confidentiality, and the ability to respond quickly to incidents. First Aid/CPR/AED certifications are encouraged or willing to obtain.

Hours are 10:35 am to 1:35 pm, with no benefits per ESPA agreement.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or Equivalency.
• Assures compliance with employment eligibility checks and medical tests as described in policy.
• Proficiency in the English language is required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certifications preferred or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and directs student activities in lunch areas and related spaces.
• Assists in keeping cafeteria areas orderly and clean.
• Monitors students and responds to situations promptly and professionally.
• Maintains appropriate student behavior according to rules and district policies.
• Supports enforcement of emergency procedures and reports incidents to administration.
• Provides basic first aid if necessary and assists students who are ill or injured.
• Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
