Job summary

Illinois School District U-46 seeks a dedicated Food Service/ Elementary Lead to oversee breakfast, lunch and after school meals at Sycamore Trails Elementary. You will ensure compliance with national programs, manage production records, and support audits while delivering excellent customer service to students and staff.

The role requires a high school diploma and a valid CPFM certification, with responsibilities including menus, ordering projections, banking deposits, and staff training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required; CPFM certification must be obtained by term start or within 30 days.
• Experience in school food service and cash handling preferred.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly with students, staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve breakfast and lunch following federal/state guidelines.
• Manage daily meal production and inventory with accurate records.
• Post menus, project weekly orders, and ensure timely reporting.
• Train assistant lead and supervise cashiering and deposits.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety to pass inspections.
