Pine Ridge Elementary in Grand Rapids, Michigan is seeking an Elementary Building Teacher – Long Term Substitute to cover classroom instruction from Junior Kindergarten through 6th grade, delivering instruction aligned with state standards.

The position offers daily pay starting at $120 for the first 10 days, increasing to $130 per day thereafter, with a Monday–Friday schedule (8:25 AM – 4:10 PM) for the school year. Reports to the Building Principal and starts date is To Be Determined.

  • Elementary K-5 All Subjects (ZG) endorsement

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Use relevant technology to support instruction.
  • Successfully educate students on state and district standards.
  • Plan and deliver effective instruction aligned with the district-provided curriculum.
  • Assess students' proficiency levels and adapt instruction accordingly.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Foster respect and understanding among students of all backgrounds.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students as needed.
  • Collaborate with special education staff as needed to provide students with individualized education programs (IEPs) appropriate accommodations and supplementary aids.
  • Administer assessments to measure students' proficiency and track their progress over time.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to parents/guardians.
  • Establish and maintain a positive and structured classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Attend staff meetings and collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional strategies.
  • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
  • Adhere to FERPA regulations and district policy when working with confidential data.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary: To teach appropriate grade-level content while in an elementary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. (Junior Kindergarten through 6th Grade)

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust/focus. Work Environment:
