Qualifications

• RI Certificate required (Elementary 1-6)
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Dual Certification in elementary general and special education preferred
• Mastery of literacy practices, strategies and standards for a literacy‑rich classroom environment
• Knowledge of establishing, organizing and managing the learning environment
• Knowledge of “teacher as coach” practices
• Knowledge of services to English Language Learners
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to establish a cooperative working relationship with staff, principals, teachers and the central office

Responsibilities

• Cover classes for teachers absent or in professional development or meetings
• Support teachers in interventions including direct intervention, assessment and progress monitoring
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the principal
