TITLE: Building Intern

LOCATION: Nayatt School

QUALIFICATIONS:

• RI Certificate Required, Elementary 1-6 certification
• Preference given to candidates who hold dual certification in elementary general and special education
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Mastery of literacy practices, strategies, standards for a literacy-rich classroom environment and demonstrated knowledge in establishing, organizing and managing the learning environment.
• Knowledge of “teacher as coach” practices.
• Knowledge of services to English Language Learners.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish a cooperative working relationship with staff, principals, teachers and the central office.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

JOB GOAL: To support teaching and learning at Nayatt School as a full-time member of the staff as a building-based substitute teacher.

Performance Responsibilities

• Covering classes for teachers who are absent or released for professional development and/or team meetings
• Supporting teachers in the provision and documentation of interventions to include direct intervention, assessment, and progress monitoring
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the principal
