Job summary

Mead School District is seeking an Elementary Behavior Technician at Meadow Ridge Elementary in Mead, WA. The role focuses on providing support for students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs under supervision of administrators.

Responsibilities include data collection, de-escalation, and collaboration with staff to implement behavior plans, with a typical schedule of 7 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Previous education and experience as Behavior Tech/RBT or equivalent.
• Mandatory MANDT or Right Response training or completion within first year.
• Experience with diverse groups of children with disabilities.
• Current first aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain promptly.
• WA Special Education Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support focused on behavior, social, and adaptive skills to students in small groups or individually.
• Supervise activities and assist with academics while collecting data on progress.
• Analyze data to inform behavior interventions and progress reporting.
• Collaborate with general and special education staff on behavior plans and strategies.
• Deliver professional development to staff on special education topics as needed.
• Perform non-violent crisis interventions and ensure safety and order.
