Job summary

Great Hearts Lakeside Lower School in Fort Worth, TX is hiring a K-5 Teaching Assistant/Apprentice Teacher. The role supports the lead teacher in delivering a Core Knowledge curriculum. A bachelor’s degree is not required; an AA or 60 college credits or ParaPro may be considered in some locations.

• US work authorization is required.
• Employment is contingent upon successful background check and fingerprint clearance.
• Some locations may require an AA, 60 hours of college credit, or ParaPro proficiency exam before beginning work.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing the Core Knowledge curriculum.
• Support/act as a second teacher in the classroom under mentorship of a Master Teacher.
• Collaborate with teachers to support instruction, student learning, and daily activities.
• Attend faculty meetings, school events, conferences, and assigned duties.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth and deepen knowledge of the classical tradition.

Education

Associate/Bachelor degree (preferred)

AA or 60 college credits (title I)

ParaPro proficiency exam (if applicable)
