Job summary

RXinsider LTD. seeks a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter or ASL Paraprofessional to support a Deaf student in an elementary school. The role is a contract, onsite position with standard hours, aligning with the school calendar.

You will provide interpreters services, facilitate communication among student, peers, and staff, and document progress while maintaining confidentiality and promoting inclusive learning. Fluency in ASL is essential, and collaboration with educators is required.

Qualifications

• EIPA score 2.5+ or degree in interpreting
• Ability to interpret expressively and receptively, as assessed during interview
• Experience in K-12 or similar student-centered environments preferred
• Professionalism, adaptability, and collaborative mindset
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Commitment to inclusive and supportive learning environment

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services for a Deaf elementary school student throughout the school day
• Facilitate communication between the student, peers, and staff to ensure equal access to educational material
• Support the student’s participation in classroom activities, lessons, and events
• Collaborate with teachers and specialists to address academic and social-emotional needs
• Maintain accurate records of services and report on student progress as needed
• Engage in ongoing communication with the educational team regarding student needs or adjustments
