Job summary

Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. seeks an Elementary School Art Teacher at Caroline L. Reutter School to provide an approved elementary Art education program and foster a positive learning environment.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate with Art Education Endorsement (or be eligible) and demonstrate effective teaching methods, strong communication, and the ability to maintain pupil engagement. This ten-month position runs Sept 1–June 30.

Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate and Art Education Endorsement or eligibility.
• Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate activities.
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Aligns instruction with state core standards and district goals using the curriculum.
• Collaborates with other art teachers and regular classroom teachers for a comprehensive program.
• Sets measurable objectives and assesses achievement following lessons.
• Participates in committees planning lesson activities and revisions.
• Monitors pupil progress and maintains records of educational progress.
• Provides instruction tailored to pupil needs and establishes classroom behavior standards.
• Ensures safety training and proper use/storage of art supplies.
• Communicates with parents about pupil progress and utilizes community resources.
