Elementary Art Teacher

School Year: 2025-2026

Location: Enterprise Elementary School

Job Summary:

This position plans and implements an instructional program and provides related educational services for students in grades K-5. Responsibilities include managing student behavior, assessing student achievement, modifying instructional activities as needed, and monitoring student progress. The teacher may work independently or in a team or departmental setting, and may be assigned to reading or technology labs. Work is performed under the supervision of a principal or designated administrator.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment for working with identified gifted students.
2. Understanding of student growth and development.
3. Familiarity with Prince William County Public Schools curriculum and the Gifted Education Program curriculum.
4. Ability to apply current research and theory to instructional programs.
5. Ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives, tailored to student needs and abilities.
6. Proficiency in utilizing multimedia and computer technology.
7. Knowledge of the school division's mission, goals, and organization.
8. Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong human relations skills.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree.
2. Collegiate Professional, Post Graduate Professional, or vocational license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia with endorsements for teaching assignments; eligibility for Virginia Teacher Certification Program or licensure.
