Great Oaks Legacy Charter School in Newark is seeking dependable AmeriCorps members to serve as Elementary AmeriCorps Tutors, providing literacy and math support to elementary students and helping every student feel they belong and can succeed.
As a tutor, you will support ELA and math interventions, reinforce lessons, lead mini-centers, help students use approved learning tools, record progress, and participate in onboarding and training. Must complete 1,200 hours by June 17, 2027.

Members work alongside teachers to provide consistent literacy and mathematics support for elementary students and help every student experience school as a place where they belong and can succeed.
Members must complete 1,200 verified service hours by June 17, 2027 and monitor their progress throughout the term. Members serve on designated in-service and training days and participate in required events, which may include Saturday Academy, Power Up, MLK Day of Service, AmeriCorps Week, Career Day, an end-of-year celebration, and Commission-hosted events. Some required service may occur outside the typical Monday-Friday schedule with advance notice.
