Job summary

Ampact is seeking an Early Learning Tutor for the 2026-27 school year to support pre-kindergarten students in building literacy and math skills in partnership with a teacher. You’ll deliver proven activities, be coached, and help students develop confidence and a love of learning.

Position is full-time with AmeriCorps service, offering stipends, health insurance, childcare assistance, and education benefits. Hours are daytime, Monday–Friday, with holidays and breaks as listed.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and navigating online).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Position Summary

Ninety percent of a child’s brain development happens before the age of 5, and we’re on a mission to help our youngest learners start strong!

Join Early Learning Corps as an Early Learning Tutor and you’ll spend your days in a pre-kindergarten classroom to help students build skills and confidence. We’ll train you to deliver proven activities and coach you every step of the way!

How does it work? Partnering with a teacher, you’ll help enhance learning. Whether talking, reading, writing, singing, or playing with students, you’ll be helping them to build early literacy and math skills.

Schedule

We are currently hiring for the 2026-27 school year. Positions run August 2026–June 2027.

• 35 hours per week (less in weeks with holidays or school release days)
• Daytime hours (corresponding with school start and end times)
• Monday-Friday (no weekends)
• Time off on holidays and school release days

Part‑time positions are also available at 25 and 15 hours per week!

AmeriCorps positions include a total service‑hour commitment for the program year. Most hours are completed through regular site‑based service; members work with program staff to plan their schedule and may occasionally complete approved service or training outside of the school day as needed.

Pay & Benefits

Full‑time AmeriCorps members receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks. Compensation: $17.50 per hour served and additional perks.
