Job summary

Simply Ed LLC in Bronx, NY is seeking an Elementary Afterschool Teacher's Assistant for a part-time role at P.S. 1 Alfred E. Smith. You will provide push-in classroom support during the 8th period, help transition students to the afterschool program, and work with 10–15 elementary students daily.

You will assist with homework, reinforce skills from school, and use Simply Ed materials for test readiness. Training is provided; DOE PETS clearance is required or eligible.

Qualifications

• Ability to assist with homework across core elementary subjects.
• Experience with elementary students preferred; training provided.
• Clearance for NYC DOE PETS background check or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide push-in classroom support during the 8th period.
• Help transition students from the school day into the afterschool program.
• Work with a group of 10–15 elementary students alongside staff.
• Provide one-on-one and small group homework assistance.
• Reinforce academic skills and guide problem solving.
• Utilize supplemental test readiness materials when appropriate.
• Attend required training sessions and staff meetings.
