Job summary

Cedars Youth Services is hiring in Lincoln, Nebraska for a Child Specialist at our Community Learning Centers. The role supports elementary students with before-and-after school activities, safety, and enrichment programs.

Daily care documentation, group activities, and positive behavior support are core responsibilities. Candidates should be 19+, have a HS diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and a passion for youth development.

Qualifications

• Must be 19 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with school age children preferred.
• Pursuing a degree in education or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work as a CLC Staff for elementary students within Community Learning Centers
• Maintain safety of children, ages 5-11
• Daily documentation of children in care
• Engage children in educational and recreational activities
• Provide support with positive behavior management and structure for children
• Facilitate groups addressing social skills, educational needs, and enrichment activities
• Create and maintain positive relationships with children, families and program staff
