Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Adapted Physical Education, Special Education, or related field.
• Current Minnesota teaching license or ability to obtain licensure.
• Experience working with children, preferably in an elementary school setting.
• Knowledge of special education services, IEP development, and adaptive physical education practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized adaptive physical education programs for elementary students.
• Conduct assessments and evaluate students' gross motor skills, physical abilities, and participation needs.
• Support student achievement of IEP goals related to physical education and motor development.
• Adapt activities, equipment, and environments to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment where all students can succeed.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, OTs, PTs, administrators, and families.
• Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and documentation.
• Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
• Encourage healthy habits, physical fitness, teamwork, and self-confidence in young learners.
