Qualifications

• Knowledge of special education services, IEP development, and adaptive physical education practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized adaptive physical education programs for elementary students.
• Conduct assessments and evaluate students' gross motor skills, physical abilities, and participation needs.
• Support student achievement of IEP goals related to physical education and motor development.
• Adapt activities, equipment, and environments to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment where all students can succeed.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, OTs, PTs, administrators, and families.
• Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and documentation.
• Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
• Encourage healthy habits, physical fitness, teamwork, and self-confidence in young learners.

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher to provide specialized physical education services to elementary school students with diverse learning and physical needs. Position Summary

The Adaptive Physical Education Teacher works with elementary-aged students who require individualized or adapted physical education instruction as part of their educational programming. The teacher will design and implement engaging lessons that support students\' physical, social, emotional, and developmental growth while ensuring meaningful participation in physical activity.

• Knowledge of special education services, IEP development, and adaptive physical education practices.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Preferred

• Minnesota Adaptive Physical Education (APE) licensure or endorsement.
• Previous experience serving students with disabilities in a school environment.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
