Job summary

Breathitt County Schools at Sebastian Elementary School is seeking an Academic Team Coach for elementary students. The role involves preparing for practices and competitions, organizing sessions, teaching fundamental skills, team play, and rules; ensuring eligibility and safety.

You will provide guidance and support, conduct learning experiences with small groups, manage equipment, and participate in inventory and budgeting within established policies.

Responsibilities

• Organize and supervise practices.
• Teach individual fundamental skills, team play, team strategy and rules and regulations of the game.
• Teach good sportsmanship and self-control.
• Check eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent.
• Provide students a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance.
• Conduct learning experiences, with small groups of students.
• Recommend/requisition the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of student athletes; and within established budget.
• Submit an inventory list each year including, but not limited to, all equipment, supplies and uniforms.
• Be responsible for the cleanliness, storage, and care of all equipment.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
