Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA is seeking a Plating technician for our Benton Harbor, MI facility. Responsibilities include electroplating operations, maintenance of plating tanks, and preparation of parts. You will work under supervision and may be trained on crane/forklift certification. A Driver’s license is required or preferred.

Qualifications

High school or equivalent required.
Experience and skills will determine pay rate and classification.
Crane/Forklift Certification – in-house training provided to obtain certification.
Driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

Perform tasks related to electroplating operations including maintenance of plating solution, tanks, pumps, filters and related equipment.
Work under direct supervision.
Prepare parts: hand finishing, masking and installation of hangers and contacts.
Pre-treat parts: remove grease, oil, and residues using chemical or cleaning solutions.
Plate parts: operate overhead crane to submerge parts into plating tanks.
Unmask parts after plating; assist with other tasks as assigned by management.
