Job summary

Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Electrophysiology Technologist to support the EP Lab under supervision, assisting physicians and nursing staff with diagnostic and therapeutic invasive electrophysiology procedures, including cardiac device implantations.

The role requires knowledge of radiographic imaging, 3D cardiac mapping, patient monitoring, and arrhythmia recognition, along with sterile technique and data collection for performance improvement.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from a Cardiovascular Technology or Radiographic Technology program or equivalent with 2 years clinical experience.
  • BLS required; ACLS within 6 months; RCES preferred.
  • 1 year in a cardiovascular environment with arrhythmia and 12-lead ECG interpretation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic invasive EP procedures, including device implantation.
  • Support physicians and nursing staff in EP lab operations and patient safety.
  • Demonstrate radiographic imaging principles and cardiac mapping during procedures.
  • Collect data for databases, outcomes analysis and performance improvement.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Under the general supervision of the EP Lab Supervisor and the CV Services Director, the EP Technologist in cooperation with the physicians and nursing personnel assists with diagnostic and therapeutic invasive electrophysiology patient procedures, including cardiac device implantation.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of radiographic imaging, 3D cardiac mapping of electrophysiological pathways, patient physiologic monitoring and cardiac arrhythmia recognition and pacing during EP ablation procedures.
  • Complies with principles of sterile techniques.
  • Collects and assembles data for database, outcome analysis and performance improvement.
  • Responsible to carry out any other activities assigned by the supervisor to assure the department runs effectively and efficiently.
What qualifications you will need
  • Graduate from a Cardiovascular Technology or Radiographic Technology program OR Equivalent combination of education and 2 years clinical experience
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association BLS required upon hire. ACLS Certification required within 6 months of hire. RCES certification preferred
  • 1 year of experience in a cardiovascular environment with competency in arrhythmia and 12‑lead electrocardiography interpretation; or equivalent clinical experience as part of education.
