Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking an Electrophysiology Technician to join our Procedural Electrophysiology team at our Hyde Park location. You will support invasive cardiac procedures, including ablations and device implantations, alongside physicians, nurses and staff.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in an invasive cardiac lab and 3+ years in cardiovascular medicine, with CPR and ACLS. RCES is preferred. This role offers full-time hours, 10-hour shifts, and no weekend work.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience in invasive cardiac procedures.
• 3+ years experience in cardiovascular medicine.
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during invasive EP procedures including pacemaker/ICD implantation.
• Prepare sterile instruments and assist with scrubbing, circulating, and recording.
• Set up and operate EP recording systems, programmable stimulators, and cardiac ablation equipment.
• Support procedures involving radiofrequency and cryoablation technology.
• Develop proficiency with three-dimensional mapping systems.
• Assist with fluoroscopy, catheter placement, and cardiac device procedures.
• Support ultrasound setup and procedural imaging.
• Participate in training related to cardiac device interrogation and programming.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to promote safe, efficient procedural care.
