Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City is seeking an Electrophysiology Technician I to support diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic procedures in the EP Lab. Under the direction of the electrophysiologist and nurse manager, you will assist with patient care, equipment setup, aseptic technique and accurate documentation.

This full-time position requires BLS and ACLS, a high school diploma and relevant cardiovascular lab experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate
  • Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology or related field
  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare related field preferred with relevant experience
  • 1+ years of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, or Electrophysiology Lab

Responsibilities

  • Assists in transporting patient to nursing units.
  • Attends to patient needs during electrophysiology procedures with safety and comfort.
  • ECG placement and troubleshooting in EP lab.
  • Performs cardioversion, defibrillation and pacing.
  • Circulates during electrophysiology procedures and assists with instrument handling.
  • Prepares patient and equipment maintaining asepsis and proper setup.
  • Maintains adequate stock and prepares EP lab for procedures.
  • Documents hemodynamic, electrical, and case progression data.
