Job summary

Washington University Cardiovascular Division, Section of Electrophysiology, is seeking an independent RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator to support operations across three clinic locations: Center for Advanced Medicine, Center for Advanced Medicine – South County, and West County at BJWCH.

The role focuses on patient advocacy, device interrogations, coordinating EP procedures, triaging needs, and education, with a collaborative team and no weekends or holidays, potentially hybrid.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with two years of nursing experience.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, in accordance with the Compact Act.
• Basic Life Support Certification or obtains certification within one month of employment. Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients; completes health history and physical examination on patients; conveys findings to physician.
• Coordinates patient care, orders diagnostic tests, conveys findings to physician, attends inpatient rounds, coordinates patient appointments and assists with referrals to outside sources.
• Assists physician and provides support with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
• Performs a variety of nursing administrative duties, including compliance with environmental safety regulations, infection control standards and quality assurance.
• Acts as liaison and team leader by facilitating communication and coordination of care between patients, families and health team members; explains routines and procedures to patients and coordinates patient care information to appropriate sources.
