Job summary

Electrophysiology Registered Nurse position in Macon, GA, requires a minimum of 2 years EP experience. You will support the EP lab during AF ablations, pacemaker/ICD cases, and lead extractions, with day-shift 12 hours and on-call nights.

The assignment starts 10/26/2026 and runs for 13 weeks onsite at a major teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma designation, a chest pain center, and stroke center.

Qualifications

• RN with EP experience and ACLS/BLS certifications.
• Experience with RFAb/PFA/Cryo ablations and pacemaker management preferred.
• Able to perform moderate sedation and cardiac drips.

Responsibilities

• Provide RN coverage in Electrophysiology Lab for 13-week contract.
• Assist EP team during ablations, pacemaker/ICD procedures and lead extractions.
• Monitor patient vitals, administer medications, and manage drips.
• Work 12-hour day shifts with on-call overnight shifts and weekend rotation.

Clinical Interviewing- Yes - Manager Approval to Offer

On Call, Call Back Requirements: 1-2 shifts of overnight call shifts per week, Every 5th weekend

Weekend Rotation: On Call

Holiday Requirements: 1 Major Holiday, Call Only

Floating Requirements: Could go to bedside for procedures like temp pacers. Will not be assigned patients anywhere except EP

Unit Information:

• Beds: 3 suites
  • Census: Average patients/day: Avg 125 cases/month

Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years of EP experience

• Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• Adults/adult sized patients (can go as young as 16 years old)
• RFA/PFA/Cryo Ablations (afib, VT, PVC, his bundles), pacemakers, AICDs, lead extractions/revisions, generator changes, MICRA/Aveir leadless pacemaker, loop recorders, temp pacers, Watchman
• Send for manager approval if candidate is not familiar with some of these as they may have the bandwidth to review/tech

Required License, National Certification, Certs:

• RN: BLS, ACLS
• Tech: BLS, ACLS. Will accept ARRT-R, CCI-RCIS or RCES, or CST

Skills required:

• RN: experience with above patient types, moderate sedation administration (anesthesia will sedate for Watchman and afib ablations), cardiac rhythm interpretation, drip management (mixing drugs, critical and cardiac drips)
• Tech: experience with above patient types, techs will monitor, must be comfortable scrubbing/panning simultaneously, manage/pull sheaths
  • Manager will accept EP Tech or CST who has worked with wires/caths before and has EP knowledge

Support within the Department:

• Manager/Supervisor available during the day
• Central Transport (staff will transport from prep area and back)
• Flow coordinator (usually a Tech, not in staffing)
• Scheduler to schedule outpatient cases; flow coordinator for inpatient/add ons
• Phlebotomy
• IV/VAT Team
• RT 24/7
• Hospitalist 24/7
• Intensivist 24/7
• Sheath Team will also help manage and pull sheaths

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: EPIC – would prefer some experience for RN and Tech
• IV Pump: Alaris
• Med dispensing: Pyxis
• PACS: Phillips cardiovascular/ISCV
• Unit specific equipment: Phillips & Client

Floating: If yes, where:

• Could go to bedside for procedures like temp pacers. Will not be assigned patients anywhere except EP
