Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is seeking a qualified cardiovascular professional to perform diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures, including coronary, EP, interventional radiology, and peripheral interventions. This full-time, day-shift role offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates and comprehensive benefits.

The candidate will respond to emergencies, verify orders, and communicate with physicians while maintaining equipment and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Associate degree is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1+ year of healthcare experience is required; 2+ years in cardiac cath/EP/Neurosciences/critical care or interventional radiology is preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; RN license and radiology/RRT/RCIS/RCES/CVIT certifications required.
• Experience with electrophysiology and interventional radiology procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures including coronary, EP, interventional radiology, and peripheral interventions.
• Responds to clinical emergencies and works within scope of practice.
• Administers and evaluates treatments and medications according to policy and training.
• Verifies orders, facilitates implementation, and communicates with physicians as needed.
• Maintains and operates equipment and supplies for cardiovascular procedures, ensuring proper setup and sterilization.

Job Description:

• Up to a $20,000 sign on bonus available for eligible candidates
• Schedule: 10-hour or 12-hour shifts
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures, including coronary, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and peripheral interventions.
• Responds appropriately in clinical emergencies and performs within the scope of practice for the position.

• Responsible for maintaining all required registries and licenses for performing Invasive Cardiology procedures [Required]
• Ability to operate x-ray equipment and adhere to Basic Radiation Safety principles to maintain exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff [Required]
• Able to learn and independently perform in scrub, record, and circulate positions for Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiovascular cases [Required]
• Assists in patient flow through Invasive Cardiology areas and in training new employees once independent in each position [Required]
• Performs properly and legibly documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policies [Required]
