Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care for patients with dysrhythmias, including pacemaker and device evaluations. The role requires collaboration with physicians, device interrogation, medication administration, and patient education, with travel to outpatient clinics within a 2-hour radius.

A Ohio RN license, BLS/ACLS, and 5 years pacemaker experience are required; join a team dedicated to high‑quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (RN) is required.
• BLS and ACLS certification are required.
• 5 years pacemaker/device experience.
• Thorough knowledge of cardiac dysrhythmias, anatomy, and electrophysiology procedures.
• Knowledge of patient assessment and triage procedures.
• Ability to educate and communicate with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients assessing physical, psychological, and emotional status.
• Develop and implement nursing plan of care for patients.
• Communicate the plan of care and test results to patients and families.
• Perform device interrogation and evaluate pacemakers and device functions.
• Document medications administered and procedures performed; coordinate care with physicians.
• Triage patient concerns by phone and in clinic; provide nursing advice.
• Follow guidelines for IHIS in-basket tasks and communications.
• Travel to outlying clinics within a 2-hour radius; support staffing as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
