This premier opportunity supports a high-volume EP practice within an academically focused cardiovascular center.

You will participate in clinical, research, and academic missions, teaching fellows and residents while expanding EP services across NBIMC and affiliated hospitals.

Qualifications

  • Board-Certified/Board-Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in New Jersey.
  • Commitment to clinical excellence, multidisciplinary collaboration, and academic medicine.
  • Open to experienced physicians and graduating fellows.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a high-volume of complex EP procedures including AF ablations, ICD implantations and Watchman device placements.
  • Expand EP services to affiliated hospitals and establish ambulatory consultation and device clinics.
  • Teach, supervise and mentor cardiology and EP fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Develop relationships with regional cardiologists and providers through lectures and rounds.
  • Collaborate with leadership to review program strategies and clinical pathways.
  • Contribute to industry-sponsored trials, registries, and publications.

Job description

RWJBarnabas Health, New Jersey’s largest and most comprehensive integrated health system, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist to join the Division of Cardiology at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC).

This is a premier opportunity to join an established, high-volume EP practice within a growing, academically focused quaternary cardiovascular center. The role encompasses advanced clinical electrophysiology services, complex procedural opportunities, and the expansion of ambulatory and consultative EP services across NBIMC, Trinitas Regional Medical Center, and RWJ Rahway University Hospital.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered arrhythmia care while helping integrate services into a newly formed, state-of-the-art Arrhythmia Center. As a key member of the Division, you will participate actively in our clinical, research, and academic missions, including core faculty involvement with our active ACGME-accredited Cardiology and EP fellowship programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procedural Volume & Complex Care: Perform a high volume of complex EP procedures, including AF ablations, ICD implantations, and Watchman device placements.
  • Regional Expansion: Participate in the expansion of EP services to Trinitas Regional Medical Center and RWJ Rahway University Hospital, establishing ambulatory consultation and device clinics alongside inpatient support.
  • Academic Mission: Teach, supervise, and mentor cardiology and electrophysiology fellows, residents, and medical students as part of the core fellowship faculty.
  • Network & Referral Development: Develop strong professional relationships with regional cardiologists and providers, primarily in Essex County, through lectures, grand rounds, and professional outreach.
  • Strategic Growth: Work closely with the Section Chief of Cardiac EP and the Chief of Cardiology to review program strategies, update protocols, and maintain advanced practice clinical pathways.
  • Research Infrastructure: Leverage an established clinical research infrastructure to participate in industry-sponsored clinical trials, registries, and publication opportunities.
Candidate Requirements
  • BC/BE in Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the State of New Jersey.
  • Commitment to clinical excellence, multidisciplinary collaboration, and academic medicine.
  • Open to both experienced physicians and graduating fellows.
Compensation & Benefits

We offer competitive wRVU-based compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including health/life/disability insurance, 401k/retirement, and generous PTO/CME support.

The anticipated salary range for this position if hired to work is $600,000 – $750,000. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
