Job summary

DENSO in Maryville, TN is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain 20X production tester equipment, including automated testers, test fixtures, and PC-based systems.

You will respond to downtime, perform preventive maintenance and calibration checks, and support continuous improvement projects within the 20X tester areas, while following safety policies and ensuring equipment reliability.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical training in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain 20X production tester equipment.
  • Respond to downtime calls and identify root cause to restore operation.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and equipment checks per procedures.
  • Support calibration checks and quality control activities to maintain tester accuracy.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals for troubleshooting.
  • Document repairs, downtime findings, PM activity, parts usage, and follow-up items.
  • Support equipment installation, tester modifications, and continuous improvement projects in the 20X tester areas.
  • Follow safety policies including PPE, Stop-Call-Wait, LOTO, and 3S.
  • Communicate effectively with production, maintenance leadership, engineering, and quality groups during downtime and follow-up.

Job description

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain 20X production tester equipment, including automated testers, test fixtures, electrical/electronic components, PC-based systems, HMI interfaces, communication devices, controls, sensors, cables, probes, and measurement systems.
  • Respond to production downtime calls in a timely manner and work safely to identify root cause, restore equipment operation, and reduce repeat failures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and equipment checks in accordance with department procedures, maintenance schedules, and production requirements.
  • Support Static Accuracy Checks, tester verification activities, calibration-related checks, and other quality control activities required to maintain tester accuracy and product confidence.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, tester documentation, maintenance records, equipment manuals, and related technical information to support troubleshooting and repair activity.
  • Document repairs, downtime findings, PM activity, parts usage, SAC results, temporary countermeasures, and follow-up items accurately in the appropriate maintenance systems or passdown formats.
  • Support equipment installation, tester modifications, fixture improvements, countermeasure implementation, continuous improvement activities, and other assigned projects within the 20X tester areas.
  • Follow all DENSO safety policies and procedures, including PPE requirements, Stop-Call-Wait expectations, LOTO/3S requirements, and department work standards.
  • Communicate effectively with production associates, Team Leaders, maintenance leadership, engineering, Tester Design, quality, and other support groups during downtime response, escalation, passdown, and follow-up activity.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent technical training in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, electronic, PC-based, automated, or PLC-controlled production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to use multimeters, basic electrical test tools, wiring diagrams, schematics, equipment manuals, and maintenance documentation to diagnose equipment issues.
  • Working knowledge of sensors, relays, power supplies, I/O devices, controls, communication networks, measurement circuits, and automated test equipment concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly to production downtime while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with production, maintenance leadership, engineering, quality, and other support groups.
  • Ability and willingness to work assigned shift schedules, overtime, weekends, holidays, training assignments, and off-shift support as required by business needs.
Work Environment And Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed primarily in a DENSO automotive manufacturing environment supporting 20X production tester areas and related equipment.
  • Position requires regular time on the production floor and may involve working around automated equipment, energized electrical cabinets, test fixtures, compressed air, moving equipment, and active production processes.
  • Must be able to follow all required safety procedures, including PPE, LOTO, 3S, Stop-Call-Wait, quality, and department communication standards.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, kneel, and work in and around production equipment as needed to perform maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
  • May be required to lift, move, or carry tools, parts, fixtures, and equipment components in accordance with company safety guidelines.
  • May require fast response to downtime, shift-to-shift pass down, weekend support, overtime, and coordination with multiple support departments.
