Job summary

Dalsin Industries in Bloomington, MN is hiring for a direct labor assembler in our fast-paced metal fabrication environment. You will read blueprints, use hand and pneumatic tools, and assemble sheet metal components to exact customer specifications.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean work area, following safety procedures, and collaborating with teammates to improve efficiency, quality and on-time delivery. Forklift certification is preferred or required.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Familiar with inspection processes and systems controls.
  • Ability to read wiring schematics.
  • Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide).

Responsibilities

  • Assemble sheet metal components using hand and pneumatic tools per diagrams.
  • Read blueprints and job instructions to ensure customer specifications.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area and follow best practices.
  • Collaborate with team to improve efficiency, quality and safety.
  • Operate ERP-related tasks and document production as required.
  • Move and position items, load/unload, and assist with inspections.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

Job Summary:This is a direct labor role within the designated assembly supporting all aspects. A fast-paced, quality oriented and team-focused employee is needed due to the dynamic environment of these work areas.

  • Utilize allthe necessary tools to ensure quality parts aremanufactured to customerexpectations.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the immediate work area(s) and surroundingareas.
  • Efficiently assemblesheet metalcomponentsusing provided hand tools,pneumatictoolsand diagrams.
  • Work well as a positive team member in a fast paced and dynamic workenvironment.
  • An ability to effectively communicate within a team environmentand train others as needed.
  • Detail orientation, eye and hand coordination, mechanical ability,
  • Ability toreadblueprintsand work instructions.
  • Must be able to work from job ticket, standard work documents,manualsor verbal instructions.
  • Keepthe work area in a clean and orderly condition, following industry and Dalsin best practices.

  • Notify the manager of concerns when help is needed.
  • Use the appropriate tools and equipment necessary to perform the job, including inspection equipment.
  • Collaborates to identify and implement ways to improve overall performance within area of responsibility using continuous improvement methods.
  • Execute and support approved opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, safety and overall effectiveness.
  • Utilize the ERP system applicable for your specific role.

  • Abilityto locate, track, and move items in the ERP system.
  • Effective performance requires a deep working knowledge of jobs and workflow in your assigned department.
  • Abilityto detect colorsconsistent with electricalwiring.
  • Abilityto meet quality and productivity requirements of complexsealing and caulking.
  • Fork-lift certified.
  • Competent in all Level Iand2essential duties and responsibilities
  • Accuratelyroute, land, fasten and secure electrical connections using pre-terminated wires per standard work documentation, schematics, and best practices.
  • Performance test product using electrical/electronic test equipment and software.
  • Move freely to any workstation within the environment to maximize production flow and overall efficiency.
  • Detail orientation, eye and hand coordination, electrical/wiring ability,and ability to follow specific testing and documentation procedures including product tracking and serialization.
  • Ability to read wiring schematics.
  • Observes opportunities to improvesafety, quality, delivery, cost and can effectivelytry/communicatethese opportunities.
