Job summary

Intellisense Systems, Inc. in Torrance, CA seeks an Electronics Test Technician to join the Operations Team. You will operate, troubleshoot, and support test systems for electro/opto/mechanical assemblies, with Level I/II pathways depending on experience.

Shift 11:00am–7:00pm, Monday–Friday, responsible for testing and data capture. Responsibilities include troubleshooting to board/system level, failure analysis, calibration coordination, and supporting production transfer.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electronics or related tech preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 4-6 years in engineering or manufacturing test environment; Level I 2-3 years may be considered.
• Experience with automated test fixtures, PCB assembly/testing, cable/harness production, ESD control.
• Working knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and computer interfacing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to produce clear technical test and failure-analysis documentation.
• Availability to work occasional overtime & weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform board and system-level programming, functional testing, and ATP/EOL testing using automated and manual fixtures.
• Troubleshoot electronic, electrical, optical, and electromechanical assemblies to component, board, cable, or system level.
• Perform failure analysis and root-cause troubleshooting; document findings and support corrective-action and rework activities.
• Set up, operate, and maintain test equipment and fixtures, including ESS, thermal cycling, vibration, and HALT equipment; coordinate calibration or repair.
• Support new product introduction (NPI), prototypes, engineering evaluations, qualification testing, and transition of products into production.
• Perform optical alignment, fiber-optic inspection/cleaning, and optical performance testing.
• Capture, review, and document test data for ATP and traveler documentation.
• Work with engineers, quality, and manufacturing personnel to improve test procedures and production processes.
• Perform product assembly and rework as needed, including cable/harness work and mechanical assembly.

We design, develop, and manufacture advanced products for ground, maritime, and airborne applications.

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Electronics Test Technician to join our Operations Team in Torrance, CA. The successful candidate will have electronics and mechanical manufacturing test experience and will operate, troubleshoot, and support test systems and equipment used to verify the performance and reliability of integrated electro/opto/mechanical systems.

This position is open to both Level I and Level II candidates depending on experience. Level I technicians work under routine supervision on established test procedures, while Level II technicians independently troubleshoot more complex assemblies, perform failure analysis, and provide technical guidance to less experienced technicians.

Location: Torrance, CA

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday | Shift 11:00am – 7:00pm

• Set up, operate, and maintain test equipment and fixtures, including ESS, thermal cycling, vibration, and HALT equipment; identify equipment issues and coordinate calibration or repair.
• Support new product introduction (NPI), prototype builds, engineering evaluations, qualification testing, and transition of products into production.
• Perform optical alignment, fiber-optic inspection/cleaning, and optical performance testing.
• Capture, review, and document test data as part of production automated test procedures (ATP) and product traveler documentation.
• Work with engineers, quality, and manufacturing personnel to improve test procedures, fixtures, and production processes.
• Perform product assembly and rework as needed, including cable/harness work and mechanical assembly.

Requirements:

• Associate degree in electronics, electrical technology, engineering technology, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent military or directly relevant technical experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 4-6 years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing test environment, including independent troubleshooting of electronic or electromechanical products; candidates with 2-3 years of experience (Level I) may also be considered.
• Experience with automated test fixtures, printed circuit board assembly and testing, cable/harness production, ESD control, and handling of optical components.
• Working knowledge of electrical circuits, schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and computer interfacing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear technical test and failure-analysis documentation.
• Availability to work occasional overtime & weekend shifts.

Nice to Haves:

• LabVIEW, ESS/chamber programming, data-acquisition, or automated test software experience.
• Current IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or equivalent solder/workmanship certification.
• Prior experience mentoring or training less experienced technicians.

Pay Range:

$25.00/hr - $36.00/hr DOE
