Position Overview

The Test Technician will join Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Sykesville, Maryland to apply electronics principles in the fabrication, test, and troubleshooting of complex components, assemblies, devices, circuits, and systems.

Responsibilities
  • Perform acceptance test procedures to verify equipment function, including monitoring tests and measuring electrical performance.
  • Select, set up, calibrate, and operate complex and special equipment and facilities across a broad spectrum of technologies.
  • Verify and validate product and paperwork configuration, test processes, and test equipment/setup configuration and calibration.
  • Measure, collect, and record electrical performance data; analyze and evaluate data, experimental models, and resultant data to verify reliability and validity.
  • Prepare accurate and complete test reports of all recorded data.
  • Program and verify device operation through code writing and modification.
  • Troubleshoot systems, devices, processes, and test set‑ups to locate and repair defective areas.
  • Assist engineers in designing and developing circuits, processes, and operations that assure proper product function, using block diagrams, schematics, and calculations as needed.
  • Develop, construct, and test highly complex components and prototype devices, working from general information.
  • Perform routine and ad‑hoc calibration, maintenance, and integration of peripherals and networks.
  • Develop processes, test specifications, and revision notices as assignments change.
  • Execute integration of software and hardware through debugging, coding, and system modifications.
  • Perform initial procedural tests on new or changed equipment and make necessary modifications/calibrations.
  • Adapt to changing assignments and requirements across the 3rd, 4th, or 5th shift.
Qualifications
  • Current active DoD Secret security clearance (investigation date within 5 years).
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in fabrication and testing of complex electronics components, assemblies, devices, circuits, and systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • RF test experience and/or antenna test/range experience.
  • Test development experience in a nearfield antenna range.
  • Experience with electrical and/or RF test equipment.
Salary & Benefits

Salary Range: $52,094.00 – $125,390.00 (primary level). The range is determined by scope, responsibilities, experience, education, and market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and potential long‑term incentives. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, company‑paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation or personal business.
