Job summary

Overview

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for a Test Technician to join the Sykesville, Maryland team. The role focuses on applying electronics principles in the fabrication, testing, and troubleshooting of complete components, assemblies, devices, circuits, and systems. Your work will support the development of systems and solutions that keep our world safe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply electronics principles for fabrication, test, and troubleshooting of components, assemblies, devices, circuits, and systems.
  • Perform acceptance test procedures that verify equipment function.
  • Determine methods and techniques for monitoring tests and measuring electrical performance on complex systems.
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate complex and special equipment over a broad spectrum of technologies.
  • Verify and validate product configuration, test processes, and test equipment setup and calibration.
  • Record, analyze, and evaluate electrical performance data, experimental models, and resultant data.
  • Prepare accurate and complete test reports of all recorded data.
  • Program and verify devices.
  • Troubleshoot systems, devices, processes, and/or test setups to locate and repair defective areas.
  • Assist engineers in creating designs, developing circuits, processes, and operations that assure proper function of product and test equipment per design specifications.
  • Develop, construct, and test highly complex components, assemblies, devices, circuits, and systems, including experimental and prototype devices.
  • Perform initial procedural tests on new or changed equipment and make necessary modifications or calibrations.
  • Adapt to changing assignments and requirements.
  • Develop processes, test specifications, and revision notices.
  • Perform integration of software and hardware through debugging, writing code, and modifying systems.
  • Maintain and integrate peripherals and networks.
Shift Schedule
  • 1st shift: starts around 7am (Monday–Friday).
  • 2nd shift: starts around 2pm (Monday–Friday).
  • 3rd shift: starts around 11pm (Monday–Friday).
  • 4th shift: runs 7am to 7pm (Friday–Sunday only).
  • 5th shift: runs 7pm to 7am (Friday–Sunday only).
  • Some flexibility around start times.
  • Differential pay for 2nd, 3rd, and 5th shifts.
Basic Qualifications
  • Pass pre‑employment skills assessment.
  • Obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
  • High School Diploma or GED with at least 6 years of relevant experience in fabrication and test of complex components, assemblies, devices, circuits, and systems.
  • Experience with electronics principles.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • RF test experience and/or antenna test/range experience.
  • Test development experience in a near‑field antenna range.
  • Experience with electrical and/or RF test equipment.
Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $52,094.00 – $125,390.00 (based on position, responsibilities, and experience). Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses. Benefits include health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays, and paid time off.
