Job summary

Projects Unlimited in Dayton, OH is seeking an Electronics Test Technician II to perform intermediate to advanced testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic assemblies and systems, supporting production and engineering to meet quality and performance standards.

The role utilizes oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and requires reading schematics, RF knowledge, and 2–4 years of electronics testing experience.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in electronics testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards (AS9100, FAA, IPC-A-610/620, J-Std 001).
  • Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Document test results and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering to improve test processes and support root cause analysis.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Electronics Test Technician II is responsible for performing intermediate to advanced testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic assemblies and systems. This role supports production and engineering teams by ensuring products meet quality and performance standards through rigorous testing procedures.

  • Conduct functional and performance testing of electronic components, assemblies, and systems using oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to identify and resolve issues.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic circuits to component level.
  • Document test results, failures, and corrective actions in accordance with company procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering to improve test processes and support root cause analysis.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Assist in developing and updating test procedures and protocols.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
Requirements

Education:

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Skills/Qualifications/Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in electronics testing.
  • Proficiency in using electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools: power supply, multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generator.
  • Strong understanding of analog, digital and RF circuits.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards such as AS9100, FAA regulations, and IPC-A-610/620, J-Std 001.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.

Employees are required to wear safety equipment consisting of: closed-toed shoes, safety glasses, heel straps, wrist straps, and electro-static discharge lab coats while on the production floor and are occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, and minimal risk of electrical shock.
