Read electrical schematics and troubleshoot and test accordingly. Responsibilities include soldering/reworking boards and harnesses/cables, creating test harnesses/cables, assembling test setups with basic input information and guidance, and supporting engineers in various tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Build electromechanical components and systems under the guidance of engineers.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics for troubleshooting and testing.
  • Solder and rework boards and harnesses/cables.
  • Create and assemble test harnesses/cables.
  • Set up test assemblies with guidance from engineers.
  • Support engineers in various tasks as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in soldering and electronics troubleshooting.
  • Experience with PCB work and IPC certification in soldering.
  • Good troubleshooting skills for electronic motor drives, power converters, and analog circuits.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Hands-on capability to build and possibly design test fixtures is a plus.
  • Associate's degree or 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • IPC certification preferred.

Work Environment

The work will be based out of Gastonia, NC, in temporary laboratory pods. The business segment designs and manufactures complex motion control components, systems, and subsystems for specialized defense, commercial aerospace, and general industrial applications. The project supported by this role will be within the commercial aerospace industry. The current team includes 8 engineers and 1 technician, with additional technician needs to support the increased workload. This is an R&D type work environment for commercial and defense customers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $40.00/hr.
