Job summary

Econolite is seeking a Full-Time, on-site Electronics Technician in San Diego to perform testing, troubleshooting, and repair of traffic controllers and related electronics. You will support multiple production lines and warranty repair while maintaining high quality standards.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of practical electronics experience, an associate degree in electronics, and proficiency with test equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years on‑the‑job experience (preferred).
• Associate degree or higher in Electronics Engineering or Electronics Technology.
• Experience in production/test procedures and electronics troubleshooting/repair (preferred).
• Strong background in troubleshooting surface mount devices.
• Proficiency with electronics test and repair equipment (oscilloscopes, meters, soldering tools).
• Ability to read PCBA schematics/layouts and troubleshoot effectively.
• Attention to detail and quick problem-solving; develop workarounds as needed.
• Good teamwork and clear communication with peers and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Execute defined test procedures and perform exploratory testing.
• Evaluate schematics and determine effective troubleshooting approaches.
• Repair to support production lines and warranty/repair activities.
• Document failures and analyze trends for engineers and stakeholders.
• Assist with developing/refining test procedures and fixtures.
• Assist with software installation and bench/environmental testing when needed.
