Job summary

SGS Consulting seeks an Electronics Technician to inspect, test, and analyze defective electronic assemblies. You will research data, determine root causes, and rework products to standards while building test fixtures as needed.

You will document your work, communicate with engineers and customers, and assist in corrective actions. A.S. in Electronics or two-year diploma is required, with 1+ year experience; 3+ years preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in electronics, manufacturing or related field; 3+ years preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting PCB subassembly failure modes.
• Ability to read schematics and product datasheets.
• Ability to assemble/disassemble products and work with lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and perform failure analysis on defective electronics.
• Research and summarize data to determine root cause.
• Rework products to meets standards.
• Build test harnesses, fixtures, and boards as needed.
• Document and maintain records of work performed.
• Inform engineering of problems and assist corrective actions.
• Manually test circuits and PCBs per instructions.
• Communicate with customers professionally.
• Create/update test documentation for prototypes.
• Design and build advanced engineering test boxes.
• Perform other tasks as required by supervisor/engineers.
• Train other personnel as needed.
