Aeon in Austin, TX designs, builds, and tests modular electronic systems. The Electronics Technician will own assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of complex PCBs and devices, applying SMT, diagnostics, and test automation in a fast-paced lab.

You will work hands-on with oscilloscopes, meters, and spectrum analyzers to verify performance. You will work closely with engineers on prototypes, support hardware iterations, interpret schematics, and help ensure product validation as plans

Formación

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience in hand assembling and reworking Surface Mount Technology (SMT) PCBs.
• Strong experience operating and troubleshooting using various test and measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies).
• Experience working in a lab environment, including prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Excellent manual dexterity and fine motor skills for working with small components.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions meticulously.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of electronic components and circuit board schematics.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaborating effectively with engineering and production teams.

Responsabilidades

• Perform precision SMT soldering, desoldering, and rework of fine-pitch components under a microscope.
• Assemble, modify, and repair PCB assemblies in accordance with IPC-A-610 workmanship standards.
• Interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and BOMs to support hardware builds and engineering changes.
• Partner closely with engineers to assemble prototypes, evaluate design improvements, and support rapid hardware iteration.
• Set up, configure, and operate laboratory test equipment (oscilloscopes, meters, etc.).
• Execute test procedures to verify functionality, performance, and reliability of electronic assemblies and systems.
• Analyze test results, identify trends, and troubleshoot electrical issues to component level.
• Support engineering validation by documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Create and maintain Python-based tools for test automation, data acquisition, and analysis.
• Integrate automated scripts with lab instrumentation to streamline testing and improve repeatability.
• Support development and improvement of automated test equipment (ATE) and manufacturing test processes.
• Generate test reports and data visualizations for informed engineering decisions.
• Diagnose faults in circuits, PCB assemblies, and electromechanical systems; perform repairs and rework.
• Document troubleshooting activities and repair actions with accuracy.
• Maintain a safe, clean laboratory environment and manage inventory of components.
• Assist engineering teams with prototype builds, environmental testing, and product validation.
